Are you looking for a vacuum that handles the incessant dog hair clogging up your home?
While some people think that Frenchies don’t shed, they shed quite a lot.
To maintain a clean living space, you’ll need to regularly vacuum up Frenchie fur from the carpet, couch, and numerous other nooks and crannies.
So, what’s the best vacuum for dog hair?
Well, there are several attributes that the best dog hair vacuums share. They have great suction power, an effective clean-air filtration system, additional dog hair-specific tools, and a design that can maneuver into small places easily.
As you may already know, buying and trying vacuums can be an expensive and frustrating ordeal. Because, unfortunately, there are a LOT of vacuums on the market that aren’t suited to handling dog hair.
To help you out, I’ve identified a shortlist of the five best vacuums for dog hair on the market.
Here is a quick overview of my assessment – for further details, scroll down passed the table.
Eureka PowerSpeed Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner
Eureka’s PowerSpeed Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner is a top choice for pet hair cleanup for several reasons. Not only does it have above average suction strength and excellent air filtration, but it also has a light design, which makes it easy to move around.
The only question mark I have with this model is that it lacks some of the pet hair-specific tools of other vacuums on the list.
Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360 Upright Vacuum
Shark’s Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360 Upright Vacuum is another valid option if you’re on the lookout for a dog hair vacuum.
This model, in particular, has impressive mobility with its lift-away design. The mobile design helps you get into those elusive, hair-trapping areas.
Aside from the position of the Navigator’s exhaust vent, I really liked this vacuum.
*TOP PICK* – Bissell Cleanview Swivel Pet Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner
Bissell, a brand known for its quality vacuum cleaners, was always going to make this list. The model I chose from Bissell, due to its pet-friendly features, is the Cleanview Swivel Pet Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner.
The swivel design makes this vacuum super-easy to maneuver into tricky places. It also has top of the line edge suction and specialized pet hair tools that make it my top pick compared to other options.
A minor concern which is balanced out with its maneuverability is the heavier weight of this vacuum of 18.6 pounds. It’s not impossible to move around by any stretch, but it was worth mentioning.
Nequare Cordless Vacuum Cleaner
If you’re looking for a cordless vacuum, then Nequare’s Cordless Vacuum Cleaner model is worth checking out.
You get the surface area coverage of a push-along model with the flexibility of a handheld vacuum. Above all else, this vacuum is extremely lightweight and has an LED light system for ultimate visibility.
Why such a low rating? Well, there is only a 35-minute battery life. For some small areas, this may be ok, but it could be frustrating if the battery konks out halfway through cleaning your room!
Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Handheld Vacuum
I couldn’t have a list of the best vacuums for dog hair without including a handheld model. And it’s no surprise I’ve gone back to Bissell for this inclusion.
The Pet Hair Eraser Handheld Vacuum, as the name suggests, is a small handheld vacuum that quickly gets into hard-to-reach places. For example, when you’re cleaning dog hair off your couch, blanket, or duvet cover, this would be perfect.
It also comes with a set of accompanying tools that assist in cleaning up those hard-to-catch hairs.
Unfortunately, the Pet Hair Eraser has a 16-inch cord, which, for me, is an awkward feature for a handheld vacuum. That’s why I scored this model slightly down.
Our Top Recommendation
My top pick for the best vacuum for dog hair removal is the Bissell Cleanview Swivel Pet Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner.
While its slightly on the heavier side, this pet hair-cleaning powerhouse maneuvers around smartly, catches dog hair from just about everywhere it can get, and has a one-liter bagless containment for ease-of-cleaning.
With the pet-specific extra tools it comes with, along with its corner and edge-cleaning capabilities, it eliminates much of the need for a handheld device. As a bonus, this model is efficient with its power use and affordable to buy.
